Introduction and About Me
In 2005 the beautiful butterfly dog fluttered into my life. My Papillon Cujo introduced me to my true passion.. Papillons. I couldn't have asked for a better boy. He is practically perfect! I found that paps are an amazingly devoted and loving breed. They love their people with the entirety of their little hearts. My life pretty much revolves around my little dogs. My paps are very spoiled and are very well taken care of. They eat quality food and have a large fenced in yard to play in whenever they like. Papillons are house dogs but they love playing outdoors.
After getting Cujo I began heavily researching anything and everything about Papillons. I was determined to one day get a show quality pap of my own. Of course this was my dream all along so many years ago when I played "dog show" with Matlida my Boston Terrier mix. I attended my first real life dog show in 2006. We arrived at the show very late when Best In Show was just awarded. I had chills. I had the same feeling I had while watching the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on television all of the years before. So finding a show quality pap was slowly becoming a reality. I went to many more dog shows over the span of several years. I introduced myself to many Papillon breeders at the shows and met many Papillons. I was probably seen to be a bit annoying by those experienced handlers/breeders. Nonetheless I persevered on my journey to getting a show dog. In 2007 I emailed Carolyn Mills of Ken Mar Papillons asking about her dogs. I admired her gorgeous red and white paps descended from her CH Group Placing Ken Mar Party On A Wave SOD. To my surprise this experienced breeder of nearly 30 years trusted me enough to think about placing a female show quality Papillon with me. Carolyn told me she would be having some litters in time using her party lines. I expressed my interest and asked to please do the breeding so I would be able to get the dog of my dreams. She did do the breeding and told me about them months later. She had posted a few pictures of the puppies on her website. I saw this adorable little face and it was love at first site. The photo was just a headshot mind you, but I knew then and there that she had to be mine. The red and white puppy had huge rounded ears and a nice wide blaze. She had perfect markings. I was amazed and delighted when Carolyn agreed to let me have this puppy. This was the most adorable little red and white pap puppy I had ever seen.
I named that little darling puppy River. She was truly a dream come true. We hit the show ring right after she turned six months old. River and I learned how to show and eventually became a great team. We taught each other the ins and outs of dog shows. We went to numerous Papillon Club Shows all around, from Virginia to Kentucky. I showed River for a while and she finally won her first point. I was so excited! Today River is retired and enjoying the pampered life. She is my super spoiled little princess. I now have a few more Papillons and couldn't be happier. Sure, I show my paps, but they are so much more to me than show dogs. They are my spoiled companions. They are my passion.
My "kennel" name took much thought and time. Blue is my favorite color and in the French language it is spelled Bleu. My first initial is E and my last is L. Bleuel. Then I added an extra L to make it look pretty. Bleuell.
